How to Convert JPG, PNG or WebP to GIF

Open the matching JPG, PNG or WebP to GIF page, add still images, choose a GIF quality preset and optional no-upscale resize, then convert each source into a separate static GIF.

Convert a still image to GIF

  1. 1Open the route matching the source format.
  2. 2Add validated still images; animated WebP is rejected.
  3. 3Choose Smaller File, Balanced or Higher Quality and optionally reduce dimensions.
  4. 4Convert, then view, download or share each completed static GIF.

JPG, PNG and WebP differences

JPG photographs can lose smooth gradients because GIF has fewer colors. PNG graphics may retain fully transparent areas, but partial alpha becomes binary. WebP-to-GIF is for compatibility and can produce a larger file with fewer colors.

Quality, dimensions and metadata

Balanced is the default. Smaller File uses fewer colors, while Higher Quality preserves more available GIF color detail and may be larger. Resizing never enlarges the source, and output metadata is removed.

Current limitations

  • Each route creates separate still GIF files, not an animation.
  • Animated WebP is unsupported.
  • GIF-to-image conversion, GIF editing, frame extraction and video-to-GIF are unavailable.
  • Conversion never guarantees a smaller output.
