Legal
Terms & Conditions
Operational draft · Last updated September 20, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions govern access to and use of Convert It. By using the site or service, you agree to these Terms. Convert It does not currently claim that users accept these Terms through a separate checkbox unless a particular flow expressly presents one.
If you do not agree, do not upload files or use the conversion service.
2. Eligibility and Age
You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms or use the service with authorization from a parent, guardian or organization that can accept them for you. The service is not knowingly directed to children.
Owner/legal review: Owner/legal review is required to select an exact minimum age and any jurisdiction-specific parental-consent approach.
3. Service Description
Convert It currently provides supported still-image conversion, including static image-to-GIF output, image-based animated GIF creation, compression and resizing, document-to-PDF conversion, and PDF tools. Available formats, file limits and account features are shown in the live product.
These Terms also apply if Convert It later introduces approved file-processing features such as video-to-GIF conversion, background removal or cropping. Mentioning a possible future feature here does not mean it is currently available or promise that it will launch.
4. User Content Ownership and Limited License
You retain the ownership and other rights you already hold in files you upload and outputs created from them. Convert It does not claim ownership merely because content is processed.
You grant Convert It a limited, non-exclusive license to receive, temporarily store, validate, process, convert, transmit and provide your requested output. This license is limited to operating, securing and supporting the service and ends when the content is deleted under the applicable cleanup or retention rules, subject to legally required or routine backup handling.
5. Your Rights and Warranties
You represent that you own the uploaded content or have sufficient rights, licenses and permission to upload, process, modify, convert and download it. This applies to images, documents, PDFs and any future supported video or background-removal inputs.
The ability to process a file does not grant permission to copy, modify or distribute content owned by someone else.
6. Prohibited Content and Use
You may not use Convert It to:
- Upload or distribute unlawful content or content whose possession or distribution is illegal.
- Infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other third-party rights.
- Process stolen, confidential or restricted material without authority.
- Upload malware, malicious files, illegal sexual content or content intended to harm systems or people.
- Circumvent access controls, digital rights management, quotas, validation, security controls or technical limits.
- Abuse automation, overload workers, amplify resource consumption or interfere with service infrastructure.
7. Copyright Complaints
Convert It prohibits infringing use. A copyright owner or authorized representative may submit a sufficiently detailed complaint after the owner establishes an official legal contact channel. The service may remove content or restrict accounts when appropriate and legally required.
Convert It does not claim that this clause alone establishes eligibility for any safe harbor under 17 U.S.C. §512 or another law.
Owner/legal review: No designated DMCA agent or official legal notice address is established in the repository. The owner must obtain legal advice before publishing a formal notice-and-takedown process or claiming safe-harbor status.
8. Encrypted Content, Access Controls and DRM
You may not use the service to unlawfully circumvent encryption, access controls or digital rights management. Convert It may reject encrypted, password-protected, malformed or technically protected files and does not provide circumvention functionality.
9. Temporary Processing and Storage
Files may be uploaded to server and storage systems for validation and processing. Source files are temporarily handled under Convert It’s cleanup policy. Generated files remain available only for the retention period associated with the visitor, account or service level.
You are responsible for downloading important outputs before they expire and for retaining original source files. Convert It is not a backup or permanent storage service.
10. Video Conversion Beta
If background removal is introduced, automated selections may remove or retain pixels unexpectedly and may require user review. The output does not determine or change copyright ownership.
Video Conversion and Video Compression are Beta features for paid members. Plus includes 60 minutes and Pro includes 180 minutes of successful source-video processing per Stripe-anchored calendar month, including annual subscriptions. Unused video minutes do not roll over. Free has no video access. Maximum video uploads are 250 MB on Plus and 500 MB on Pro. Failed, rejected, cancelled, expired or abandoned work does not consume that allowance.
You must own each video or have sufficient authorization to process it. Unlawful, infringing, abusive, malicious, deceptive, encrypted or DRM-protected content is prohibited. Automated bulk use, account sharing, allowance circumvention, excessive retrying, resale and activity that harms service availability are prohibited; Convert It may temporarily limit or suspend abusive processing.
Video Beta may change or be interrupted, and results vary with codecs and media structure. Conversion can change quality, color, frame rate and audio. Compression is not guaranteed to reduce every file or perfectly preserve every source.
Video files and links expire 24 hours after creation on Plus and 48 hours on Pro and cannot be recovered. You are responsible for downloading needed results before expiration.
11. Output Accuracy and Fidelity
Conversions may alter quality, layout, fonts, metadata, color, transparency, animation, resizing, cropping, page structure, formulas, charts or other properties. Image-to-GIF processing may reduce colors, simplify partial transparency and remove metadata. Exact rendering is not guaranteed for every valid source.
Editable output created from a signed PDF does not preserve or recreate digital-signature validity, signing certificates, timestamps or audit evidence. Keep the original signed PDF as the authoritative record.
Review converted files before publishing, distributing, printing, filing or otherwise relying on them. Keep original copies of all important content.
12. Accounts and Access
You are responsible for accurate account information and for maintaining control of the email account used to access Convert It. Do not share access codes or permit unauthorized account use.
Convert It may suspend or terminate access for abuse, security threats, legal requirements or material violations of these Terms.
13. Free and Paid Service
Registered Free includes 10 combined image, document and PDF conversions per month, 10 files per batch, individual downloads and sharing, and no ZIP downloads or multi-file collections. Plus costs $10/month or $100/year; Pro costs $20/month or $200/year. Both include unlimited image, document and PDF conversions and supported PDF workflows. Plus permits 15 files per batch, ZIP or sharing/email collection; Pro permits 25. Plus and Pro are offered through Stripe as a recurring monthly or annual subscription. Paid billing begins immediately with no trial. The price, included benefits, billing frequency, renewal information, and applicable taxes displayed at purchase govern together with these Terms and any checkout-specific terms.
Manage payment methods, invoices, plan changes and cancellation in Stripe Customer Portal. Plus to Pro upgrades are immediate with proration; Pro to Plus downgrades and cancellations take effect at period end. Failed renewal follows Stripe retry/recovery settings, with Free fallback when the authoritative subscription becomes unpaid, canceled or otherwise no longer entitled. Failed conversions never consume allowance. Images, documents and PDFs are saved for 7 days on Free, 14 on Plus and 30 on Pro. Existing expiration timestamps do not change on plan changes. Share links expire with their files. Browser-only tools remain free and consume no conversion allowance. Paid plans are ad-free; Free may include ads in the future. No ads are displayed in dev.94.
Owner/legal review: The owner must approve final refund, partial-period, tax, and jurisdiction-specific renewal or cancellation disclosures. No refund promise is made by this draft.
14. Service Changes, Availability and Resource Use
Convert It may reasonably modify, limit, suspend or discontinue formats, features, limits or infrastructure, subject to applicable law and any commitments made for a paid service.
Reasonable controls may be used to prevent excessive automated requests, quota evasion, worker starvation, malicious amplification, security abuse and interference with other users.
Fair-use controls supplement rather than replace the stated 60-minute Plus and 180-minute Pro monthly video allowances for ordinary paid-member use.
15. Third-Party and Open-Source Components
Convert It uses third-party and open-source software. Those components remain subject to their respective licenses and ownership. Their inclusion does not imply that their authors or licensors endorse Convert It.
16. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability, universal format compatibility or exact output fidelity. Some jurisdictions do not allow particular warranty exclusions, so those exclusions apply only to the extent legally permitted.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Convert It and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from use of the service, loss of files, missed retention periods or reliance on converted output. Rights that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.
Owner/legal review: The legal entity, jurisdiction-specific language and any monetary liability cap require owner and qualified legal review before final publication.
18. Indemnification
To the extent enforceable under applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use, infringement of third-party rights or material breach of these Terms.
Owner/legal review: Final indemnification scope and enforceability require jurisdiction-specific legal review.
19. Termination
Convert It may suspend or terminate account or service access when reasonably necessary to address Terms violations, security threats, infrastructure abuse, legal requirements or harm to the service or third parties. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination remain effective.
20. Governing Law and Disputes
This operational draft does not select a governing state or country, venue, arbitration process, class-action waiver or jury waiver. No mandatory arbitration clause applies merely because this draft exists.
Owner/legal review: The owner and qualified counsel must select governing law, venue and a dispute mechanism before these Terms are treated as final.
21. Changes to These Terms
Updated Terms will show a revised date. Material changes should receive reasonable notice appropriate to the service and applicable law. Continued use after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance only where that approach is legally sufficient.
Owner/legal review: The owner must approve the effective-date and user-notice process before final publication.
22. Contact
An official legal entity name, business address, legal email and copyright-notice contact have not yet been established in repository configuration. Until those details are approved, this page is an operational draft rather than final legal terms.
Owner/legal review: Provide the legal entity identity, business address and monitored legal/contact email before finalizing these Terms.
