Convert JPG images to PNG while preserving supported image dimensions and transparency behavior.
The new PNG is encoded without adding another lossy compression step.
PNG supports transparency, although an opaque JPG has none to restore.
Existing JPEG compression loss remains; conversion cannot recreate detail.
About This Operation
PNG is useful when you need a widely supported lossless output format for graphics, screenshots or later editing.
A JPG source is already lossy. Converting it to PNG prevents another lossy encoding step, but it cannot restore detail removed by the original JPEG compression.
Accepts a single-frame JPG or JPEG source whose content matches its type.
Produces a still PNG. PNG can represent transparency, but an ordinary opaque JPG does not contain transparency to recreate.
Simple Workflow
Choose JPG or JPEG files.
Confirm PNG and optional resize settings.
Convert, then view, download or share the completed PNG.
Useful Details
PNG encoding is lossless, although previously lost JPEG detail remains lost and the PNG may be larger.
Conversion does not invent transparent areas that were absent from the JPG.
This is a still-image operation; animated sources are rejected.
The current worker applies orientation and strips source metadata from the output.
