About This Operation
Want to compress images? File-size reduction uses image compression. JPG and WebP can often be made substantially smaller at the same pixel dimensions; PNG uses lossless compression, so savings may be smaller.
Make images smaller in KB or MB with Light, Balanced or Maximum presets, or set a Maximum File Size. Dimensions stay unchanged unless you choose Resize Dimensions. Some targets cannot be reached at the selected dimensions and format.
To reduce image size in KB, choose Maximum File Size and enter your own limit. Convert It uses 1 KB = 1,024 bytes and 1 MB = 1,024 KB. These units measure stored data, not pixel width and height. Light favors detail, Balanced is the starting point, and Maximum prioritizes fewer bytes; a custom cap instead searches for the highest practical quality within your budget.
Supported still-image formats, with animated sources rejected.
A validated image using the selected output format and quality preset.
Simple Workflow
Choose one or more JPG, PNG or WebP images of the same source format.
Under Reduce File Size, select a reduction level or set a Maximum File Size in KB or MB.
Convert, review the results and download files individually or as an eligible ZIP batch.
Useful Details
Light favors retained detail, Balanced is the default, and Maximum favors size.
Transparency behavior follows the selected source and output formats.
Animated image editing is not supported; still-image validation remains authoritative.
Metadata removal remains the default; compatible preservation is optional.
Built Around Your Files and Privacy
Convert It checks uploaded files against the expected format before processing so invalid or unsupported files can be stopped early.
You keep your rights to the files you upload and the converted files you create. Only upload content you have permission to use.
Source files are handled in private temporary storage, while converted files follow the retention period for your visitor or account level.
